I'd rather go that way than be hanged or electrocuted or injected.

| | Well, I'm gonna assume the victim/target may jolt, slump, jerk or tilt after each shot, so having a firing squad would be - difficult to pull off. When I say rapid succession, I mean likely having the target in a stockade and an mounted auto-fire rifle that moves slightly from left to right as it fires. | | Greyhaze's DDM Spoilers Champion of a Medium Dog & then a Darkenbeast , Raistlin Majere, Nightmare WDQ25/60, Warduke WD60/60, Anti-Champion of Guns, "Knight of Bugbears", and Joke Champion of Venger. Depends on your point of view. To the English he was a criminal. To the Scots, he was a national hero. | | WotC - making me wish more and more every day for a return to the TSR days. :( I fought the snark and the snark won. I'm baaaaaaaaaaack!

history might see him as a martyr but he was also a criminal. Except that he was a freedom fighter fighting to liberate his nation. You have a pretty narrow view. As I said in another thread, whether you consider him a criminal depends on your point of view. To the English, yes he was. To the Scots, he was a hero. Anyone who fights against injustice and tyranny is a hero. Wallace was that.

Not to me, but yes maybe to Cubans and Russians at the time. And that's not to say that they remained heroes. It's hard to think of Castro or Lenin as heroes, but if you went back to the time they overthrew their respective governments, I'd think that a great deal of the population regarded them as heroes for freeing them from the Romanovs(Russia) and Batista(Cuba). I think it was Batista anyway.
When the Nazis invaded Russia in 1941, they were initially seen as liberators and heroes because they were freeing them from Stalinist rule. Quickly however that changed as the Nazis began to show their true colors and starting treating the Russians no better than Stalin did. | | WotC - making me wish more and more every day for a return to the TSR days. :( I fought the snark and the snark won. Here here, one individual who will never see the outside of a prison anytime soon. Do the crime, do the time. Well it should have been the death penalty but thanks to that law passed in 1974, death sentences are commutted to life in person(in the country) and there he shall rot. It's funny how it was reinstated and the uproar it has caused. Cruel and unsual punishment, please! An eye for an eye already! We live in a sick and twisted society where if you kill somebody, you can be sentenced to life and not be sentenced to death. I know we're supposed to be civilized but geez murder is murder.
