Feel free to discuss the match ups as much as you like.  I expect these to be some really tough games!

All 3 prize figures should be posted on Tuesday.  I left my digital camera USB cable at work.

And the finale!

Table 1: My vote goes to player 3. Both are great warbands, but player 3 has more options, the AC advantage in a few match-ups, and a greater ability to hurt more targets at the same time than the opposition. Great game to watch, I'm sure.

Table 2: Player 11 takes the cake, trophy, or whatever. Player 11 just has too many mobility options & special abilities that take away the advantages of the enemy.

Thanks bshugg, for getting this up! (And thanks for rewarding voters, that's a brilliant idea.)

Table 1: Player 14 wins
Table 2: Player 11 wins

Comments
That's a lot of Astral Stalkers and Large Shadow Dragons at the top two tables.

Table 1
At the first table, I think it appears rather obvious, at first, that Player 3 has the edge. But, the Ice Archon is not at all an easy piece to defeat. And, on this map, that piece's speed and ability to control the squares around it will pay off. Also, since there are two Driders in the band, the opponent's Large Shadow Dragon has to be cautious about its placement, which reduces its effectiveness. The Rot Scarab Swarm offers a serious threat to Player 14, but, I think that Player 14 can take care of it through careful play. It's not that I don't think this won't be close. Player 3 has a lot of damage output potential there. But, it's easy to overlook the Driders in both bands, and two of them is in fact a threat and the damage that they can generate isn't insignificant. But, in the end, I think that the Ice Archon will pay off here. And, besides, this is the only way to prevent a mirror match in the end.

Table 2
This is going to be a tough match as well. I think if it were played out a few times, we'd see each band winning a fair number of games. In round 4, Player 11 faced Player 2 and won 6-to-4 on Dragonshrine. I think that the maps aren't all that different. There are more early lines of sight on ToQP, but, once engagement happens, the two maps are rather similar. I would guess we'll see a similar outcome here.

At table 1 I like warband 3. I really like the Ice Archon but think that the Shadow Dragon would render the piece as a minor distraction if/when it got it's enervated breath off.

Table 2 goes to warband 2. I maybe partial here but the Babu is an interesting piece and I just have never really liked the UB in skirmish play.

So: WB 3 and 2.

EDIT: I guess I am the only one who likes WB 2. Let's go Babu....do me proud!

I played out Table 1 in Vassal and Warband 3 kicked 14's tail pretty quick. I'm going to run another game now that I'm more familiar with each piece's abilities and strengths/weaknesses, so don't count this quite as my vote, hehe.

Table 2 will happen, uh, eventually. XD

I really like the Astral Stalker, but it's less fun when there's so many of them...

Anyway:

Table 1:
I like 14 for this one. I think the Ice Archon is great in this kind of format, tough to kill, speedy and can put out some mean damage... And there are enough synergies here that I think 14 just out-cohesions 3. Deathjumps with the Stalker, Drider/Stalker with the Archon, Archon with the Stalker, Drider's Fairy Fire. I think it's a great match, but 14 gets it in the end.

Table 2:
This one gets tough, but I think mostly open map gives 2 enough of an advantage to pull it off. In the end, I think the two Driders and Babau provide more of an advantage than the Nightmare/Umberhulk combo, and I would expect the Deathjump to make much more of an impression than all of 11's fodder put together... Honestly, I would love to see this game played out a few times by a few different players. I can see both of these bands played a few different ways and think the matchup would be amazing.

So:

Table 1: 14
Table 2: 2

I'm on the Go Babau! team as well!

Interesting note: As posted the actual votes for table 1 are: 3, 14, 3, 14, 3, 14, 3, 14

Table 1: 14, synergies and the high AC on the archon give player 14 the edge.
Table 2: 2, the driders are quite good in this matchup.

Interesting btw, all underdark, all stalker, nearly all shadow dragon and nearly all driders. :P

Table 1 =
Player 3.
I think stalker & dragon combo is good enough with teh pther options to take the prize.

Table 3 =
I'm going with 2. Just.

What kind of WBC 16 round would it be without a results table with wonderful, color-alternating rows?!

After 11 votes:
Match 1:3 vs. 14
 5 - 6
Match 2:2

How I will handle ties:

If either match is a tie, I i will extend the deadline of BOTH matches by one full day.  This will continue until we don't have a tie on both or we hit the 14th.  Then its sudden death tie breakers when a vote comes in we end it immediately.
