| Just got the FR Players Guide & Adventurers Vault.
It adds Drow and Genasi races, and the Swordmage class. Also adds Darkpact Warlock and Spellscarred. Looks like you can only use spellscarred as a multi-class option, using feats to swap for spellscarred powers.
The Adventurers Vault has some magic items for companions. It also mentions that Beastmaster Ranger (coming in martial powers book) will have a companion. Says others will too in the future. | |

| | I think 4th ed FR is going in the right direction, the paragon paths for it were very much to my liking. Along with the Gensai, they are starting their "Race matters more in 4 then 3.X" by have a few paragon paths that improve/develop the Drow/Gensai as opposed to just another wizard path. Gives me hope that they are going to do some more race related paths. | |

| I paged through it yesterday at the book store and found the options much to my liking! I fear greatly the number of paragon paths; it looks as bad if not worse than prestige classes in 3.0... Luckily I think the paragon paths are way less abusable so far.
Swordmage- powerful defender! The assualt swordmage is more like a striker/defender combo that will appeal to many. The sheilding swordmage gives your party DR from a marked attacker. DR 10 is easily attainable and frankly pretty nasty.
Darkpact warlock- I wish they wouldn't have made it so Drow centric but it works. I'm curious how the pact boon will actually play and I'll check out the powers next time. Looks solid overall. I suspect they there are going to be a lot of differnt pact options for warlocks making them a fan favorite. | |

| The Swordmage looks like a very promising class, think it will be pretty popular. May even make wizards even a less popular choice, if thats possible . Loved wizards in 3.5, totally hate them in 4e. Clerics suck now too. I was happy to see that Animal Companions will soon arrive with the Martial Powers book. There are some magic items for them in the Adv. Vault. Still waiting for Druids, hope they don't hose them up as bad a wizards and clerics.
Frankly I think 4e is sorely lacking at the moment. But as enough new books/options come out it may get close to fun in a year or two. After the Players Handbook 2, The Arcane Powers and the Divine Powers books are all out, we may have a playable game again. | |
