| From Vry's PostÂ
This idea does seem to be dead, but I had a thought about this project and the upcoming Points of Light stuff with 4e.
Rather than designing a bunch of unusual nations and trying to link them together coherently, you could focus on making interesting self-contained locales that could be popped into any campaign.
Forget about the map, forget about the nation and world scale and make really unique little bits that may or may not connect into a larger picture later.
Not really a new idea since some of the threads here are already about little areas like that, but it's a way to potentially make the points of light concept more palatable. *shrug* I think this is a great way to go about it.
Snippets that can be used in any realm/campaign make more sense to me.Â

Fits my style pretty well.
I've been playing with google maps and coming up with my own RPG maps based on real world locales. Maybe I'll post some of those. | | WotC - making me wish more and more every day for a return to the TSR days. :( I fought the snark and the snark won. I'm baaaaaaaaaaack!

| So... I am to assume that it would be safe to post new material in this section? I am relatively new to the forum and actually didn't discover this section until... today! Seemed to me like a promising venture that lost fuel - nevertheless, I have some interesting stuff that I had created for my D&D 3.5 campaign, but never got to torture.... er.... unleash? on my PCs. Perhaps it could spark some ideas for DMs struggling for "new" adventures/locales for their groups? I just don't want to start posting stuff up only to find that the forum's gonna be wiped.
Let me know what the verdict on this is! | | | |
