| Although this is a great idea i dont want there to be a limit on the number of heros created. Im sure that each individual creating there own little empire will have a hero related to that empire in some way or another.
Limiting it to 20 just alienates people and we dont want that. | | Ha:19 of 80! De:43 of 60! Ar:24 of 60! GoL:60 of 72! Ab:59 of 60! Dk:58 of 60! Af:60 of 60 Complete! Ud:60 of 60 Complete! WD:60 of 60 Complete! Trade Thread Excel Trade Calculator Excel Price guide/Checklist

| I think that limiting the # of heros is neccessary (for now). If it becomes a problem later and we want to add a few, we can [:)]. Other campaign settings like FR, have only a finite number of well known (legendary) heros (Elminster, Drizzt, etc). If there are too many, it takes away from an encounter with a legendary hero.
Don't know if that came out right, or explains anything, but for now, I think 20 heros is good.

| I think we should follow Daunte lead on this. After all this is his project.
Heroes should be created with your area as you create it. Everything will have to be approved when finished any way.
So I say fell free to create as many as you like. | | Yes I am Gelatinous.

| I really dont want to be an ass about anything with this cause i want everyone to have a hand in this.
But with that said, everyone having a hand means that we arent going to limit a lot of things, including heroes.
If we end up with 40 different kingdoms/clans whatever in this little world, who is to say who gets a hero and who doesnt. Everyone has equal footing on this and everyone can have a hero if they like. Or even a famous adventuring party or something, using your example of driizt and elminster, where would drizzt be without bruenor, catti-brie and wulfgar, where would elminster be without the harpers and so on. | | Ha:19 of 80! To add to that I want to suggest that something RandomSasquatch posted in an other thread about 20 gods as a limit be disregarded too, Im not saying we need more, but we do not need to set artificial limits on pantheon construction just for the sake of setting them. | | Im out- find me on Hordelings if you want to chat.

| Name: Boron Tyrrsvar Alliases: Frost-Faller, All-Jarl, Fyrd-Father, Varg Oflisson, Troll-Biter, Wolf Coat, Boron the Raven-Blessed Race: Human (possibly Einherjar?) Classes: Barbarian/Berserk General Appearance: 6'8" (often taller in stories), full-bearded wide man, bound in furs and teeth. Known for his large axe as tall as a normal man wielded in one hand. Ice colored eyes, known to intimidate most living creatures. Historic Feats: Defeating the Jotunheim Frost Giant Jarl Ygg Stone-North and responsible for destroying the remaining such giants in the mainland. First to be the Chosen of any of the Northern Gods. History Originally born of Ivar Long-Bearded, the legendary first Jarl of the North. Boron grabbed his first chance of fame by the throat by bringing back the head of a neighboring troll hive at the age of 12. Even at that age, he held the size and temperment of a man. Several times in his rising as a hero, he single-handedly defeated many of the rising troll-kin in the mainland. Other warriors angrly tried to stop his young rising, only to be beaten as their enemies. Eventually, Ivar died, and with Giants still holding the Northern Islands, an older Boron sought to rule his land un-tested by giant foes. After an expedition, the Giant Jarl Ygg ended, and Boron's strength in the North absolute. The Gods took special intrest in Boron, and in turn, invested some of their strength in him. This was the first instance of this happening in the lands (the Germanic lands that is). Eventually, Boron gave his position to the champion of a series of tests, which in turn was his son, Olaf Boronsson, who took the position and continued the line of the Northernmost tribes. Boron began to sink into the shadow, only to return triumphantly when the lands he claimed become threatened. Long after many of his line have died from both battle and age, Boron still shows his bearded head at least once a century, even if it is to prove his strength to the rest of the tribes, then recede into his hiding, only to return on his great Drakkar, Hildsvir Area of Origin: Germanic Tribal Kingdoms, Northernmost Island Area Last Seen: Different places throught his lands. Last seen 30 years from current time to combat a rogue troll group harassing the eastern fyrds.
Several ideas to explain his age. 1) He could have died long ago, only to become an Einherjar, returning to his kingdom in times of need, or 2) As a Chosen of his Gods, he could have gained some form of prolonged life, and has his own retreat somewhere in the poles. | | Champion of the Aspect of Tempus

| Since the idea of the new world has apparently died for most people, I'm reinstating my limits on "Gods" and "Notable heros."
The idea that a D&D world would have a ridiculously infinite amount of Gods is stupid. The world would be utter chaos, since most gods are jealous/greedy by nature. With so many gods fighting over one world, there's no way the world would survive. We would have to change the name of the new world to "the everchanging plane of lim... er... stupidity."
