| Only 28 points for Hybrid/Ripley? Sure her damage output isn't too hot unless one of her allies bites the dust... but she's pretty tough regardless. Any plans on what minis you are going to use. Horrorclixs of course has their own pre-painted Aliens, there's some SWM that would make good Marines and other human characters. | | Pathetic Earthlings. | I was using the horroclix packs, was thinking of buying extras to cut off the bases and put on 1" bases. There are a couple heroclix that work as marines somewhat too, but believe it or not for the most I've been using DDM minis. Guys with bows = guns, abyssal guys = aliens, illithids = preds...
I tried to make Ripley resilient, I think she could handle 1 drone when all is said and done, but would be in trouble with more, and against preds she may have a lot of trouble. It's nice to see some comments though, I'd love more discussion. | | Greyhaze's DDM Spoilers Champion of a Medium Dog & then a Darkenbeast , Raistlin Majere, Nightmare WDQ25/60, Warduke WD60/60, Anti-Champion of Guns, "Knight of Bugbears", and Joke Champion of Venger. | I'm just suprised you have not gone for any of the generic Star Wars figures. The Human Mercenary from Revenge of the Sith makes a great Marine, as a bonus he's already attatched to a round DDM base.
One of the Rares in the new set Janos somthing or another looks like a pretty good Ripely model as well. | | Pathetic Earthlings. | | Jupiter! Yep, ordered one of her. I do have the human mercs from SWM, but without numbering them it's hard to tell who is who (althoug it is still a great choice). We have a guy who plays heroclix at my store who has an entire army of generics that are modded to have Stormtroopers on the base. It's a great effect..;-) | | Gryfalia's Aerie Bloomington/Normal's only dedicated Game Store! www.gryfaliasaerie.com forums.gryfaliasaerie.com

| This is very interesting :) Although I'm not 100% sure D20 is the best system for this. A while ago I was developing a system for alien -like game, but dropped due to lack of time & other more interesting projects =o)
I loved UFO: Enemy unknown on PC, and think something resembling that would be needed - most important excitement factor being reaction checks for ranged AoO's if you haven't used all your action points etc. Different fire modes are also great :) as well as chance for misfire.
GreyHaze, is it just DDM rules you're planning to use, or something else/modified? | | Vindicated AtG Called shot: 2nd Huge Red Dragon My collected trade reference links Star Wars tactical combat -project My modelling/terrain pages Suomen miniatyyrikeräilijät / Miniature collectors of Finland

| | Basically just the DDM rules with some added features like low walls and water movement. I didn't want to spend a large chunk of time designing or learning a whole new ruleset, it takes a pretty long time just to come up with the maps, stats and finding the images. :) | | Greyhaze's DDM Spoilers Champion of a Medium Dog & then a Darkenbeast , Raistlin Majere, Nightmare WDQ25/60, Warduke WD60/60, Anti-Champion of Guns, "Knight of Bugbears", and Joke Champion of Venger. I loved that game! One of the first D20 modern games I put together was an X-com game. | | Pathetic Earthlings. | | I will be doing preview #6 and #7 and then taking my vacation and will be away for a week. So, I'll either post normally upon my return (more than likely) or post a batch of 3 before I go. | | Well the Preds and Aliens are a little obvious. :D
For Heroclix there's the swat guys, a whole bunch of goons and crims. Some of the other figures could be modeled into colonists or converted into special characters with a little greenstuff and paint.
Horrorclix of course has the Aliens, Preds. There's the guys in Hazmat suits. Quite a few of their hero characters would be fun too, the Archeologist and Agent 7. | | Pathetic Earthlings.
