| First, make sure you have downloaded the extensions. They reside in a zip file. Unzip the contents of the zip file to the same directory that has the module that you will load. This should create a folder with the same name as the module except that it will end with "_ext" instead of the file extension (".mod"). Once this is accomplished, Start Vassal. On the first Vassal screen, click on the "Play Vassal" button. Highlight your Vassal module and click on open. The extensions should all load up. You will know because the chat window will display something like this:
- Miniatures Skirmish Game version 1.12.4 - Extension EC EXtension 4_0 v3.1 loaded - Extension Epic_Maps_1-1 v0.0 loaded - Extension Iconics 1_3 v1.0 loaded The Epic maps appear towards the bottom of the list of maps with the phrase "(Epic)" in front.
If this doesn't work, you will need to post what steps you have accomplished. Have you been on Vassal at all for instance?

| I have been on vassal, and I can play with the regular mod file. When I select the mod file to play, it is still zipped and on my desk top. If I open it, it becomes a folder that I can't select to play. Do I need to put the maps in and then rezip the folder? How do I do that? | | | |

| The mod file sounds correct. It is a zipped file, but is supposed to remain zipped. Vassal handles the unzipping and what not. What is the name of the mod? I've seen it get renamed when downloaded to be DDM_1-12-4.mod.zip. If your Mac did that, rename it to be DDM_1-12-4.mod or DDM_1-12-4.zip. You don't want it to have both extensions.
The Extension file needs to be unzipped. The folder it contains needs to reside in the same spot as the mod. This folder name is related to the name of the mod. If the mod is named DDM_1-12-4.mod (or DDM_1-12-4.zip) then the folder needs to be named DDM_1-12-4_ext. If the mod has been renamed to DDM_1-12-4.mod.zip, then the extension folder needs to be named DDM_1-12-4.mod_ext (or something like that). That is why it is just easier to rename the mod to have a single extension.
