I know nothing is 100% but we seriously need better security here at maxminis. The site going down every few weeks (or worse, every couple days) due to some scumbag is intolerable. Meanwhile, our sister station keeps humming along without all these problems.

WotC - making me wish more and more every day for a return to the TSR days. :( I fought the snark and the snark won. I'm baaaaaaaaaaack! Host has been working to improve the security situation, including installing software that should prevent the type of attacks that have been causing problems here lately. Since the recent site stability issues have been related to those attacks, hopefully that means that the site will be much more stable from now on.

Maxminis might get more hate. Its also more common software in use, which equals more exploits known and used.

With the exception of one server crash from an exploit that might have targeted Maxminis specifically and happened quite a while back, it's almost certainly the latter (although I'd phrase it as software that's "more commonly flawed" rather than "more common in use").
